about

Courtney McKenna created this uplifting musical piece and costume for ‘Flower Offerings’ inspired by Sirikul Pattachote’s work, which she named ‘Sanctuary’. Tickets are available for the live closing performance on September 23rd.

‘Sanctuary’ was recorded in Brooklyn with producer Will McNair, The 83rd, and will play in the gallery and About Glamor Vintage Shop along with a special preview of Courtney's unreleased full-length album 'Afterglow' for the duration of ‘Flower Offerings’ (September 1st - 30th).

McKenna wrote ‘Sanctuary’ using a nylon string acoustic guitar and then later switched to electric so she could utilize pedals and blended nature sound samples to create an ambient, and meditative effect. She uses minimal lyrics and soulful jazz notes to enhance the five personal affirmations she sings throughout the piece.

McKenna created her costume from white textured cotton, silver plated copper wire and various stones to enhance positive energy including citrine, mother of pearl and quartz.
